The Development supervisor of Student Support Services acts as line-manager for a range of support services, including: college Counseling Service. The supervisor is co-located with the Student Advice and Support Office, which includes the Student Advice Officer, International Student Advisers and the Student Support Officer/Disabilities Adviser.

Student support staff cooperates with members of the academic staff, with office-bearers of the Students’ Association and with representatives of relevant outside organizations. Student complaints on non-academic matters are received by the Supervisor of student support.

Student support also forms part of the portfolio of a Development Supervisor, who works closely with the vice dean of student affairs. The Development Supervisor is advised by, and attends, the University’s Student Affairs Committee.

Individual service areas conduct surveys of users’ views (Counseling and Sport & Recreation) and the issue of more systematic feedback is actively being addressed by the Support Supervisor in discussion with service heads and the student representatives.
