Instructions to Authors E-mail
General:
Papers in English (either American or British, not both) are accepted for publication. Submission of a paper for publication implies that it reports unpublished work, which is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

Submission of Manuscript:
All parts of the manuscript must be typewritten double spaced on one side only of paper size-A4, original and three copies ( photographs should be four original). Margins should be of at least 2.5 cm on each side. The text should be left justified with automatic end-of-line. Start each section on a separate page. Manuscripts must be accompanied by a covering letter signed by the communicating author.

Lay-out of manuscripts:
The manuscript is to be arranged in the following order:

  1. Title page should contain title of the write-up/ manuscript, with authors’ names, and affiliations, the telephone and fax numbers and email address of the corresponding author (page 1).
  2. An abstract, with the title of manuscript (page 2). Please don’t type the name of author(s).
  3. Introduction (page 3).
  4. Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, and Acknowledgement (if any), References, Tables, Figures, Photographs, and legends of figures and photographs, in that order.

Each page of the manuscript should be numbered using Arabic numerals, beginning with title page. Authors names should be in English and Arabic (First name-Middle name- Surname). Abstract should not exceed one page (200 words). No abbreviations or references should appear in the abstract.

Directly below the abstract, authors should provide three to five keywords.

Materials and Methods should be precise and clear in a manner which enables others to repeat the experiments. Experiments on animals and human subjects being reported should be done in accordance with the ethical standards.

Results should be represented in a concise manner avoiding the repetition and supported by appropriate statistics, or the degree of reproducibility of experiments should be mentioned in general statements in Materials and Methods. The contents of the tables should not be repeated in the text. Legends to tables should be provided above each table on the same page.

Illustrations: Three copies of all figures or photographs should be submitted with the manuscript. Photographs must be high-contrast, glossy, black and white prints, un-mounted and untrimmed, with preferred size between 10 x 13 cm and 13 x 18 cm. Color transparencies are preferred. Written permission must accompany any photograph in which the subject can be identified or any illustration that has been previously published. All illustrations (“figures”) must be numbered as cited in the text in consecutive numeric order. Please indicate the number and the name of the first author on the back of each figure.

Discussion should not contain the summary of the results, but only their interpretation. Joint presentation of the Results and Discussion is permissible.

References: Each reference must be cited in the text, using the surnames of the authors and the year, e.g., (Assiri 2002) or Al-Ghamdi and Khan (2004). Depending on the sentence construction, the names may or may not be in parenthesis, but the year always is. If there are three or more authors, the citation should give the name of the first author followed by et al. (e.g., Khan et al. 2002). If references occur that are not identifiable by the authors’ names and year, use a, b, c, etc., after the year for the text citation and in the reference list.

References list must be doubled-spaced and the references be listed in alphabetical order according to the name of first author and not numbered. Please give surname and first names (initials) of all authors, publication year in bracket, abbreviated journal titles (according to “Index medicus”), volume and page number [e.g., Assiri AM, Khan ZA, Al-Ashban RM, Shah AH.(2003). Salajeet / Shilajit a natural rejuvenator used in traditional medicine: Toxicity Studies and Literature review. J Saudi Chem. Soc; 7 (2): 199-206]. Papers with one author only should be listed in chronological order, followed by dual or more authorship. Article in book: Brown DL, Knox JD, Paulin-Levasseur M.(1992). The lymphocyte centrosome. In “The centrosome”. Edited by V. I. Kalnins. Academic Press, Inc., San Diego. pp. 261-283. Citation of personal communications and unpublished work/observations should maximally be limited and given in brackets in the text. These should not appear in the list of references.

Letter of Undertaking: All manuscripts must be accompanied by a letter of undertaking as given below.

Responsibilities of Authors: The authors are entirely responsible for accuracy of all statements and data contained in the manuscript, accuracy of all references information, and for obtaining and submitting permission from the author and publisher of any previously published material included in the submitted manuscript.

When the article is accepted, the author will be requested to submit the manuscript, tables, and figures on diskette to facilitate publication.
