A. Student oriented research activities:

  • Health care and community related projects in Jeddah and local region / data collection / screen / statistics studies (coherent research projects)

    • Nutrition habits in different areas
    • Smoking / Addiction studies

    • Common infectious diseases in the region (dengue fever, malaria etc.)
    • Projects to help increasing health awareness in public

B. SGH oriented clinical studies and Data Base establishing

  • Presence of medical facilities, labs, equipments, qualified personals, huge medical records and patient data in different areas and hospitals promote BMCR to initiate and support in:
    • Establishing medical data base system for research, statistic and quality control purposes
    • Planning and applying Clinical research projects in cooperation with different departments
    • Planning, applying and supervising advanced phases of clinical trials for new therapeutic methods and drugs
    • Initiating Retrograde and follow up studies for interesting cases
    • Analyzing Hajj related diseases specially in cooperation with SGH-Medina

C. Post graduate research projects:

BMCR promote post gradual medical scientific students from BMC or other medical and scientific colleges regardless their academic fields and theoretic curriculum; BMCR will supervise and facilitate their research work in different disciplines, levels and research types (diploma, Master, Dr. degrees) and support them in planning, executing, analyzing, evaluating and publishing their research results.

D. Cooperation in research projects:

  • Cooperation with KAU according to the academic and research mutual agreement signed before
  • Cooperation with other local and international universities and governmental medical institutions in common research projects: Health care, disease control, preventive and prophylactic, vaccination, community studies
  • Cooperation with research groups of Tübingen university according to the training and academic mutual agreement signed with them
  • Cooperation with pharmaceutical companies in drug evaluation studies and initiating basic, animal, pre-clinical and clinical studies
  • Cooperation with commercial companies for herbal and natural therapy to research, evaluate and certify their products
